2018 Team Comparisons and Analysis
TimmyLupusgoesDeep has the difficult task of taking over a team that has been stuck in limbo for the last 4 years. Most of the league is excited to have someone that will respond to trades, which works out great because for TimmyLupusgoesDeep trading may be his only hope to win this year. Projected to finish near the bottom he will need some serious finagling to not be stuck in limbo again this year. It’s interesting that he doesn’t have a single player ranked in the top 50 but still has a lot of players that are intriguing. Bogaerts, Cespedes, Carpenter and Bradley Jr all are coming off disappointing seasons but could easily rebound. Can Billy Hamilton just steal 100 bases already, we need that excitement! And Wilson Contreras is cool and Gallo hits homeruns, soooooo building blocks for future??? I really cant decide what to think of his pitching. He is projected to be in the middle of the pack in all categories. Greinke is a stud, David Price has upside, Luke Weaver is his future, Gio and Teheran are blah, and Odorizzi has a weird name. Plus Turkish must have hazed the new guy by convincing him to adopt his old strategy of having 5 or more Relief pitchers and then laughed as he drafted like none. And somehow Jon (Wacha Wacha) must have only relinquished his team under the ultimatum that Adam Wainwright remain on the roster forever, because why else would the prehistoric Cardinal still be here. Overall, TimmyLupusgoesDeep has his work cut out for him in year one, but is eager and ready to work his way into contention over the coming years.
Team Comparison: Milwaukee Brewers
Strengths: Saves, WHIP

I once wrote a paper for college only to find out we never had to actually do it, it sucked. That’s how I feel about these write ups for the Legacy. All the players that are mentioned are usually traded by midseason. So this year the Legacy doesn’t get one….
Team Comparison: Washington Nationals
Strengths: Consistency, Well Roundedness
Weakness: ERA, WHIP
The first time I looked at YeahSports during the offseason and realized his highest player was Ozuna I figured he was destined for another disappointing season. However, some savvy offseason trades landed him Machado and Freeman which gives him some legit players to build around and the projections are saying this could be his year. YeahSports is projected to finish near the top of the standings, something he hasn’t been accustomed to doing as he usually is looking up from underneath This is mainly due to the fact that basically all his hitters can hit 20 plus homeruns and some like Schoop and Donaldson can hit 35 plus. As usual YeahSports owns the best hitters on the Marlins Justin Bour and Cameron Maybin. I feel like both T and the Marlins had some else before that was better than Bour, O yeah Giancarlo Stanton! How’s that going?!?! ( I’ll take a quick recess to vent and announce that in like 36 days the Marlins will most likely be in Triple A or in California, I’ll have to write some letters to the president (Jeter, not Trump) about the things we go through as Marlins fans and how he has made things worse). Speaking of worse, YeahSports has one of the slowest teams and is projected to be at the bottom in steals, maybe that’s why he wanted Dee Gordon so bad. Every little thing might have to go right for his pitching to succeed as his team has a lot of young potential aces. Can McCullers stay healthy? How good can Castillo be? Can Lester help pull this young squad together, I Wood hope so since he was an Ungodley 43 dollars to draft. It’s been a long and lonely road for YeahSports over the years but for the first time he looks like a race car ready to pass up the leaders. Take me seriously when I say this T, all of them are right here in plain sight…. So turn off the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon and start looking.
Team Comparison: New York Yankees

OG Bobby ran into some trouble last year with a lot of his players getting hurt but he quickly went into rebuilding mode and has prepared his team to be in contention this year. He was able to secure Scherzer, Sano, Hoskins, Paxton, and Shaw and as a result is projected to win the league. His team is once again anchored by his bae’s Mike Trout and Noah Syndergaard. Does anyone else feel like your interrupting a date between a married couple when Bobby talks about Thor and Trout? I feel like he is going start singing My Boo to pictures of them and it just awkward to be around. Despite an uninspiring draft where he really only secured Nelson Cruz and …. Brandon Belt… Chris Davis…ew… he’s still going to compete in all hitting categories. What sets OG Bobby’s team apart is his ridiculous pitching where he is supposed to finish in first or second in every pitching category but saves. On top of his two super aces he has Aaron Nola and James Paxton looking to build off their breakout seasons along with Snell and Taillon looking to breakout to new heights. OG Bobby looks like he is on the right path back to dominance and a team to continually fear over the coming years. We will see if he can catch up to the big boys and not let broken windows and injuries be his excuses for not being able to keep up.
Team Comparison: Houston Astros
Strengths: All Pitching
Weakness: Except Saves
They say you get wiser with age, but Huntdawg has only trended downward since his 3rd place finish in the 8th grade and as a result has negative 3 points in Dynasty Rankings the last two years. He has definitely adopted a 76ers “trust the process” method over his High School years and looks like the team of the future. He has secured Devers, Bellinger, Acuna, Benintendi, Buxton, Albies, Rosario, and Tatis who all on track to be future stars. On top of that his two anchors of Mookie Betts and Corey Seager are only 25 and 23. This team has potential to blossom into something scary, even over the course of this year, if enough players break out. Huntdawg’s pitching seems like it is one of those Glass Half Empty or Full conundrums, which really means not great because you only have half a glass of drink anyway. He has Kershaw who is known to break analytical pitching data and Hendricks who quality starts his way to low ERA and WHIP. How will Arrieta do on the Phillies, no clue? But the Glasnow may be full when looking at his future with Tijuan Walker, Michael Kopech, and Giolito looking to become future aces. O yeah, he also has Maeda… Overall, the process is in motion for this team to rocket up the standings, but for now the Huntpuppies need to develop these prospects into stars if he hopes to compete soon.
Team Comparison: 2014 Cubs and Astros
Strengths: Steals
Weakness: Homeruns, RBIS
The Houston Astros were your 2017 World Series Champs which means the Turkish Astros must have been near the top of the standings, right? Actually we see Turkish had his worst finish falling to 9th place, kind of ironic. The projections have him finishing in the middle of the pack this year and it may be because his season didn’t get off to the best start as Madison Bumgarner will once again miss the start of the season to injury, at least this year it wasn’t a four wheeler. The way Turkish dealt with this agony is by absolutely crushing the draft! He added Jose Abreu and Hosmer to his core of Arenado, Altuve, and Springer and somehow got Adam Jones for $1… not sure how that happened and also got Cano for super cheap. His pitching staff needs elite seasons from Keuchel and 1/2Madbum to compete and he is relying on some bounce back and breakouts from Wacha, Chatwood and Salazar. The shocking aspect of this team is the amount of closers he has accumulated. Usually building his team around relievers he has forgone this strategy and drafted only one closer, Brad Ziegler (who may have negative saves). Turkish has all the pieces to make a run, will they fall into place and allow him to finish near the top.
Team Comparison: Arizona Diamondbacks
Strengths: Power
Weakness: Steals
Seagermetrics did something I surely didn’t think was possible and anyone who finished in 6th place or lower should be ashamed of themselves. He took FingerChoppers, Danes team, The Noc-A-Homas minor league team, a team that barely had competent players on it and finished 5th after a massive reboot. He is hoping this trend can continue and he can distant himself away from past reputations. His hitting looks pretty solid with Lindor, Martinez, Yelich, and Marte covering all the categories across the board. I’m really hoping he keeps his CI open until he trades for Kyle Seager so he can keep his awesome team name, I tried seeing if any of his other players worked but it seemed to fail (Maybe Lindormetrics). His season could depend on if Rougned Odor and Adam Duvall get on base. You scroll along their stats and they look pretty good and then you see their OBP and its bad, like stupid bad where you start thinking maybe you could play baseball in the MLB. Odor has literally only been walked 91 times in 4 years, 9 players did that last year alone. If Odor can boost his OBP a tad, his 30+ HRs and 15+ SB will go a long way. Seagermetrics pitching is his strength as he is projected to finish 2nd in ERA, 1st in Strikeout Rate, and 1st in Saves. This is mainly in part to Ray and Archer striking out 200+ and his 5 closers all with great Strikeout rates. Does it seem like 4 teams have all the closers and he has the best of them all? Overall, this team is ready to compete and we will see over time if we will forget it ever belonged to FingerChoppers.
Team Comparison: Chicago Cubs
Strengths: Strikeouts, WHIP, SAVES
Weakness: Power
Last year Battling Bubbas was able to double the amount of Roto points from the previous year and finished 4th overall. He hopes to continue this trend coming into this year but the projections are saying he will finish in the middle of the pack. However, he defied the projections last year mainly impart to some insane trades. Some of his best keepers like Severino, Gary Sanchez, Giancarlo formerly Mike Stanton, Jake Lamb, and Rendon all came from trades last year and the best player he gave up through it all was Schoop. This Bubba knows how to trade and makes us look silly. He has once again adopted an Old School Strategy of rostering three Catchers including top ranked Posey and Sanchez. He solved his speed problem in the draft by acquiring Dee Gordon and Kiermaier and despite some technical issues with the draft really rounded out his hitting. Pitching is where this team needs the most improvement. Will Trevor Bauer and Alex Cobb ever reach their potential? Will The Dark Knight rise again? Can all 6 of his Relievers keep his ERA low enough to compete? At least they will help him compete in the saves category. As long as Yahoo doesn’t continue to sabotage his team he can rest knowing that despite missing part of the draft he is within striking distance of a title.
Team Comparison: St Louis Cardinals
Strengths: SAVES, STEALS, TRADING
Weakness: ERA, SLG
The Noc-A-Homas is the only team to have finished in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd which is saying a lot since a lot of teams haven’t done any of those even once. The Noc-A-Homas wasn’t able to defend his title last year but looks to have positioned himself to have another top 3 finish, which by his standards probably makes him The GOAT (almost winning championships). He is bringing back Charlie Blackmon, Will Myers, Brian Dozier, and Jose Ramirez who all have championship experience. The Noc-A-Homas always wins the award for best players that no one thinks are actually good. Every year The Noc-A-Homas snags players like Peratla, Gyorko, Rosario, and Smoak who are suppose to be awful but magically do amazing things on his team. Will this continue? The Noc-A-Homas this year, rather than waiver wiring his way to a pitching staff, drafted Strasburg to compliment Chris Sale to give himself a nice one two punch. With upside pitchers like Fulmer and Sanchez plus his array of closers, his pitching staff rounds together pretty well… EXCEPT! Someone call Steve Farmer! The Noc-A-Homas should be written up for rostering Fernando Rodney again this year, he can’t possibly be good again, right...right Bobby? Who knows, but we will see if The Noc-A-Homas can multitask Fortnite with directing this team while not destroying Wells and Robertson.. well maybe Wells can go…
Team Comparison: Boston Redsox
Strengths: RUNS, SAVES, SKILLS

What does it feel like to almost win a championship? The 2000 Titans, the 2013 Spurs, and 2017 Gulf of Flexicos all understand what it is like to come so close and yet finish second. Gulf of Fleixco was a mere .5 points away from winning the league and looks to take that hunger and motivation to capture the crown in 2018. His hitting is absolutely stacked with Trea Turner, Carlos Correa, Bryce Harper, and Aaron Judge as his core and he surrounded them with experienced veterans and young upside. For the first time Gulf of Flexico had to experience the burden of keeping such high profile players and had to really maneuver his way through the draft to help his team. Gulf of Flexico is hoping veterans like Santana, Desmond, and Brantley can establish consistency while Moncada, Incierte, and DeJong can bring the spark. His pitching based on projections needs a little work as he is near the bottom in ERA, WHIP, and Strikeouts. Hopefully Gerrit Cole will regain his confidence and Yu Darvish won’t be shaken from his World Series blunders to help his team rise in the standings. Will Sonny Gray and Marcus Stroman continue to pitch well in a loaded AL East? Can King Felix regain a bit of former glory? Gulf of Flexicos floor is finishing in the top 4 but his ceiling could be running away with the league for the next couple years. Does his Dynasty begin now?
Team Comparison: Cleveland Indians

Mywifehatesfantasy was able to bounce back after two straight second place finishes to reclaim the title. However, in the process he literally has lost all the players that helped build this dynasty. Paul Goldschmidt is the only remaining one, which makes him similar to Lebron. Following this logic Mywifehatesfantasy should fill his team with old and injured players and then blow it up midseason with younger talent. Dang, looks like this is managements plan because Miggy, Beltre, Kinsler, McCutchen Choo and Hanley all were added during draft. They probably all have kids the age of Huntdawgs whole team!!!! Projected to finish in the middle of the pack, Mywifehatesfantasy will need one of these geezers to do channel some David Ortiz magic if he hopes to compete. Mywifehatesfantasy pitching is the only reason he may stand a chance with Verlander, Degrom, and Carrasco headlining his staff. Tanaka was awful during the season but postseason was amazing, that must continue for this to all work out. He also has owns Half of a Person, and hopes atleast one half can accomplish something. Don’t worry he also once again has Bundy and Manaea on his roster, players he has traded away to go for a championship but somehow gets back. Maybe they will actually help and stay on his roster. Will Mywifehatesfantasy dynasty run continue a bit longer or will he have to GULP rebuild… it would be ironic that the league finally starts playing for money after all this success. But Lets GO!

Ok so I’ll write one for The Legacy but he did demand I include lots of player name puns in these write-ups like I’m some Genie that can poof them into existence. So here we go and I’m Soria for how much I will force these in. The Legacy’s New Year Rizzolution was to trade less… bahahahhahahaahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaahahhah that’s like the Trevor Ending Story coming to an end, I don’t think that will ever HAPPen. His pitching is like the story of the three little Puigs. Kluber and Martinez are safe and sound like a brick house. There is No ways Joses that I’d trust Quintana and Berrios as aces but at least there not living in the straw house. I Margot what the other house was made out of but Happ and Mengden are chilLynn in that one, doomed to be blown away by the big bad wolf. We will see what the 5 time Kingery of trades will do with his team but he has the potential to compete if things break right or he may just give his team back to HuntDawg.
